Let me quote them here:

I forgot to mention, they also pay $1 per referral that you send to them. I don't want to sound too skeptical, but this is almost too good to be true. They place 2 small banners on your site but I don't see how that will cover their costs in providing such a service.
There has to be a catch somewhere. There just has to be one.
I tried them out, and requested for a free website but till now I have not gotten anything in the form of a reply.

We need to keep our eyes wide open on this one folks, nothing so comprehensive comes totally free.

Hi people, I've been really busy with some offline projects, there's been little time for my beloved blog, and the pursuit of online earning opportunities.
A lot of earning opportunities have been around for a while, and among them, paid blogging still works well.
I did not want to write about this because I wanted to see where the trend would lead.
Funnily, paid blogging has survived. It is not as hot as it used to be, and there are more restrictions now, but then, it is still a money-maker. Some sites pay between $4 - $20 for articles.
Some notable paid blogging sites are smorty, blogsvertise, and payperpost (who seem to have had lots of controversies lately).
I am yet to form a really concrete opinion on any of them, because I haven't tried them out fully, but I assure you, in a short while, I will let everyone know what I think of them.

Ziddu is a free file hosting site, just like rapidshare. Actually, I prefer it to rapidshare. It's fast and easy, and also secure.
You can upload pictures, audio, videos, documents and anything else. The maximum file size is 200MB, and you can even email the download link to your friends.
Apart from the fact that ziddu offer good file hosting services, it is also a nice place to earn from. You get paid $0.001 for each unique download of any of your files. That means 10000 unique downloads = $10. By offering interesting things like free ebooks and other files for download, such a number is very easy to achieve. All you need to do is find something that people need and offer it free for download. That should start things rolling.

Buzzshed, Yuwie and earning online

Forgive me for not posting frequently. I am going to give my opinion on Buzzshed and Yuwie today. Buzzshed seems quite decent, but right now they have gotten so many members that they are finding it difficult to get enough ads to go round members, therefore some members rarely get ads.
All this will change when they get more advertisers anyway. To me, I still think Buzzshed is a good earning opportunity. The concept behind the site is a nice one.
Next up is Yuwie. I signed up, took a look at what was required to earn, and decided it wasn't really worth it. It works on a sort of viral pattern. You get paid for the number of times that people view your profile page and that of your referrals. Sounds quite simple, but to earn anything useful, you have to really promote like crazy, and gain a lot of referrals, who will in turn get more referrals, and so on. It might work for some people, but I'd rather channel my recruiting efforts elsewhere.

You can get paid to watch short video ads. This is another nice opportunity to earn some money online. I came across this site (BuzzShed) about 2 weeks ago, and signed up with them.
These guys pay you to watch short video clips (commercials) on their website. The videos are about products sales or special deals for Buzzshed members, or funny promotional videos that the advertisers provide. You are given videos according to your profile, so you can be sure that you'll find each one relevant and interesting.

To start earning, all you need to do is Join BuzzShed, select your hobbies and interests, and they’ll send you a BuzzClip when an advertiser adds a video which matches your preferences or category. A buzzclip is simply an email containing a link to a sponsored video (or commercial). When you watch it, you get paid 30 cents. It’s that simple! It took me a week to get my first buzzclip though, so I would say the best way to make money from the site is from referrals. They pay $1 for the first 5 referrals, $0.50 for the next ten, and then $0.25 each for the rest of your referrals, so you should try to refer as many people as you can. If you refer 12 people only and watch about 5 videos in a month, you can reach payout. Payout is $10, and you are paid by paypal at the end of the month.

Driving While Intoxicated - A Serious Issue

If you have ever been charged for driving while intoxicated, then you will find it easier to relate with what I am writing about here. Okay, now that I'm a software judge

I submitted my first review on Softwarejudge.com, and the next day, I logged in to see a payment of $1. Not too bad, but considering the stress involved in downloading a program, installing it, and then reviewing it's performance, a dollar seems like quite a paltry sum.
They promised to pay "up to $50". Well. seems more like "up to $1" to me.

Like everything else, you don't give up at the first try. I'll download some more software, review them, and if I still get paid a flat rate of $1 per review, then I know I have to make 100 reviews to reach payout.
That's FAR OFF.

I came across this article on bbc.com. Crazy things keep happening.
Here's the headline:

"Two men face trial after wheeling their dead friend
down a Manhattan street in an alleged attempt to cash his Social
Security cheque."

The two men wheeled their dead friend all the way from their flat to a shop, in an attempt to cash his social security check, worth $355.
Apparently, they had tried to cash the check earlier but the clerk requested that their friend be present there. This prompted the two men to go back to their flat, dress up the corpse and then wheel him straight to the shop.
This attracted the attention of passers-by and the police were notified.

Join forums that allow you to add a link in your signature and start participating in discussions. Use your blog or site link in your signature and participate often in discussions. Make sure you use forums that are related to your blog, preferably with over 5,000 members and read the forum rules to determine whether you can promote your blogs and websites in your signature.

3) Write Articles
Write articles that are related to your blog and post them on popular article directories such as ezinearticles.com, Articledashboard.com and goarticle.com. Quality articles may give you a lot of free targeted traffic.

4) Post on your blog often
If you post often on your blog, you stand a better chance of building a reader base, and getting more steady traffic. Choose interesting and useful topics that will have your readers coming back for more. Quality posts will give you lots of readers.

5) Submit Your Blog to Directories
Submit your blog to directories. This works a little, but cannot be said to be very effective.

6) Start a Contest

Making Money Or Wasting Time?

Over the years, many earning opportunities have popped up on the web, one of the most notable being Paid-To-Read (PTR) programs. These guys supposedly pay you to read emails which are sponsored by their advertisers. Sounds like a good enough plan. The only problem there is; the advertisers pay little, and in order to make profits, the payments made to members are peanuts. Many of us got on the PTR train, and after seeing the general destination, got off as fast as we could. They just don't pay well enough to stress yourself over them. The ones who promise above 5 cents per mail are probably frauds. The ones who promise $10 per email are DEFINITELY frauds.

Sadly, lots of people still join these programs, and they learn the hard way. At the price of 0.05 cents per mail (like many of them pay), how many months will it take to accumulate even $10?
All the same, it acts like a baptism of fire for the new online earning converts, and they generally leave these programs smarter and more internet savvy.

Other money-making schemes have overtaken these PTRs and they will probably just fade away naturally over time. Programs like some paid-to-post and "blogging for cash" programs pay by far better, and seem to be more sustainable.

There are a couple of "paid to blog" programs which I am checking out, and I when finish, I will write about them.

A new year - a fresh start

Okay, now this is one of those "I'm back after a long time out" posts.
Last year was totally crazy and I spent little time on blogging. With the new year comes a change in attitude (or blogitude, if there's such a word!).
